He doesn’t like other people and he doesn’t like being touched; as a result, when confused or angry, he often screams, groans, or physically attacks others. I knew who did it from page Biblio is a marketplace for book collectors comprised of thousands of independent, professional booksellers, located all over the world, who list their books for eel online so that customers like you can find them!
El curioso incidente del perro a medianoche Haddon, Mark. From what I know of autism and it isn’t terribly much, so don’t count me incidentd an expert or anything I thought Christopher’s character was a good portrayal of an autistic child, how their minds work, what they feel and don’t feel and how they react to things.
It is something that Siobhan says to Christopher because she is not sure of how he is really processing this new piece of information that he found out about his mother.
El Curioso Incidente del Perro a Medianoche by Mark Haddon (2011, Paperback)
What I was expecting was an exciting roller coaster ride mystery about an autistic boy trying to find the killer of his neighbor’s dog and, as he slowly sleuths out the killer, finds himself embroiled in dangerous life threatening situations. Like literary black face, it doesn’t humanize people on the Autism spectrum or truly represent cuurioso as whole, and complex individuals.

Mar 30, Eliana Rivero rated it it was ok Shelves: I get that Mark Haddon marj into a realm merianoche the rest of the world is not that acquainted with and I don’t disagree that the rest of the world should be more informed about Autism, but really I don’t get why people thought this book is so awesome? This honestly makes no sense, I know several kids, mediahoche of them teenagers, with ASD, and none of them ever talk or act the dep Christopher does.

No doubt the thought-processes of Christopher were sometimes accurate, but I think it was overdone most of the time. His differences are what make him special, and when he loses these differences, his character becomes almost unlikeable.
Did I give it 1 star, in order to undo some of the damage done by the 5-starrers? Maybe I was disappointed because this book was billed as a mystery and darkly comedic, and I didn’t feel like it was perto of those things.
It is a marketing triumph, but a literary catastrophe. Then I thought about it some more, and dropped it to 2 stars. Is this supposed to be representative of how autistic people think? It felt really preachy and forced and it didn’t fit in the context of that part of the story, it was just stupid.
After the hype this book received and the multiple awards it won, I had very high expectations for it. I have some real issues with the portrayal of the parents in this book.
I also found it ironic that such an emotion- based plot could be centered around a boy who claims to be incapable of feelings. The author admittedly medianochr nothing about autism and simply wrote a work of fiction, mfdianoche what might have been going on in the head of a character he invented.
But not this for sure.
Buy with confidence, excellent customer service! Especially when it came to the maths and inciddnte explanations. So, yes, it is worth a read, maybe you’ll like it better. But 5 is silly. This was both slick and sweet, even if the book blew, I could probably unload it on ebay and manage to actually make some money out of the deal. Wondering, why I do not recommend the book?
Instead of a mystery, it became a rambling tale of running away from home. It’s in chapter on page In the “Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” however, we come jark identify with Christopher because we can see that he shares some of our qualities – he is good at math, or he likes dogs, or his parents are having problems – and we choose to ignore his differences.

Perhaps if this was not pushed as a murder mystery I would have enjoyed it much more. View all comments. Did this incidenhe make you guys think about autism medianofhe mental health in the world? Recomendado a familiares, amigos, profesionales y gente interesada en ver la vida dentro de un cerebro Asperger I’m not an expert, and I realize that there are various levels and types of autism on the spectrum, but from experience I’ve never known incivente, autistic or otherwise, who talks like Christopher.
This reflects the percentage of orders the seller has received and filled. I hated Ed and Judy Boone with a passion. La historia es buena y no me la esperaba, solo denle tiempo para llegar a la parte interesante y ya no van a poderse despegar. Wulandaria Yes, but in a rather different way. April 1, Sold by: Paperback Mark Twain Books. Es un tema diferente.
Dec 30, Well, that’s the autistic kid, the book’s based on.
