Dracula the Un-Dead
Holt wrote a screen play for another schlock horror movie not a novel in it’s truest form,normally I wouldn’t care, but after reading his arrogant interview where he places himself on a level with B. Come to think of it, I’ve not read a book in drracula entrails feature so prominently.
Dracula the Un-Dead is a strong book that stands on its own. Realizing that Van Helsing’s earlier rants about the supernatural were real after all, Cotford attempts to save Mina by getting her on one of London’s underground trains.
However, Dracula, being the more skilled swordsman, outmaneuvers Bathory and impales her with his broken sword, stabbing her in the chest with the kukri blade. Seward, I can picture him becoming an addict and spending the rest of his life chasing vampires.
I could spend hours pointing out the flaws and butcher the book to pieces, but it as all been said before on here. Jonathan Seward, who was instrumental in the original chase has turned into a washed-up medical professional, addicted to morphine and chasing demons all across Europe, nothing like his mentor, Abraham Van Helsing.
What did people think after reading Bram’s Dracula? Mina confirms this fact, and suddenly the true reason behind the disintegration of his family and their friendships was laid bare. I Can’t believe that the Stoker name is attatched to this.

Aligning the story into the Jack the Ripper crimes really added to my enjoyment too as I am a fan of Ripper theories. I only wish I could give this horrid piece of trash 0 stars. Van Helsing gives Quincey one last chance indead join their side, which he refuses.

Where Bram Stoker used words to mount tension, adventure and mystery, Dacre Stoker fills his pages with whiney, pale characters and lots of violence. I just do not know why would Bathory side with islam fan, when islam is even harsher to women, than christianity.

Nov 06, Rahul Matthew rated it it was ok. Also off putting is the rough manner in which Dacre and Holt handle the beloved characters of the original novel. And Dracula is some kind of sexual Tyrannosaurus who Mina loves now. Considering some of the awful books out there this one will at least keep you reading till the end.

The eerie nature of the original piece is replaced by stokerr history that permeates the narrative, allowing the patient reader to discover much more and delve deeper than the late 19th century novel permitted.
At Dracula’s insistence, Mina takes him to Carfax Abbey to make a final stand against Bathory; during the trip, we learn that the real reason Dracula came to London 25 years ago was to hunt down Bathory, who was slaughtering women under the guise of Jack the Ripper, and though Dracula admits the heroes’ acts were noble and chivalrous, they were hunting the wrong monster.
Actually, there were about characters in the book and the game of recognizing them started distracting me from the plot. This is completely under I wanted to like this book.
