For fans of apocalyptic books, this is a must read. The plot is don of the more interesting spins graam a nuclear apocalypse scenario.

No military brass in a bunker, wasteland wanderers or small town survivors here – instead it focusses on a British airliner, en-route from a broken former USA when the nukes fly, leaving the plane no destination when the UK is splatted. Re-reading again recently, it is a little dated. But once in the air, nuclear war broke out, and Scott became responsible for the entire human race!


While over the middle of the Atlantic, flying from New York to Heathrow, it becomes clear that a global nuclear war has broken out. The plot twists were great. Given the situation there should have been way more drama.

Capel is wounded but Kate demonstrates her basic medical skills in cleaning and dressing the wound. I still remember having air raid drills and taking cover under my desk,, I’d definitely recommend this book to everyone regardless of age I believe that you’ll be just as I was so long ago!

I just couldn’t get enough of these type of stories. I remember this being a great story.
