People want to be recognized in a genuine, specific way. I would recommend this book as an excellent first place to start for anyone looking to speajing social skills, but it might be particularly revelatory to a late teen or young adult who feels a little socially uncomfortable and conversatiinally a guide to help move past his or her anxieties and self-imposed rules.

I do hope you enjoy this book and practice the skills I converationally in it. This revised edition provides more ways to improve conversational skills by asking questions that promote conversation, learning how to listen so that others will be encouraged to talk, reducing anxiety in social situations and more.
I routinely recommend it. This book was one of the three.
